We collect the following types of information when you use WA Shooter:

  • Account Information: Your phone number (used for OTP-based login). We do not collect passwords.
  • Usage Data: Campaign statistics (count of messages sent, delivery status), feature usage for improving the product.
  • Device & Technical Data: Browser type, extension version, and anonymised error logs for debugging.
  • Billing Information: Payment details are processed entirely by Razorpay (India) or Stripe (international). We never store card numbers or banking credentials.

We do not store the content of messages you compose, your contact lists, or the personal data of your recipients.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To authenticate you and manage your account.
  • To provide, maintain, and improve the WA Shooter service.
  • To process payments and manage your subscription.
  • To send you service-related notifications (account alerts, billing receipts).
  • To generate anonymised, aggregated analytics about product usage.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers hosted in secure cloud infrastructure. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • TLS/HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.
  • Encrypted storage for sensitive data at rest.
  • Access controls limiting who within our organisation can access user data.
  • Regular security audits and monitoring.

While we take all reasonable precautions, no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use strong, unique passwords and to notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorised access.

4. Third-Party Services

WA Shooter integrates with the following third-party services:

  • Razorpay: Payment processing for Indian customers. Subject to Razorpay's privacy policy.
  • Stripe: Payment processing for international customers. Subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
  • OpenAI: Powers our AI message rewriting and spam-score features. Message content submitted to AI features is processed by OpenAI under their data usage policies. We do not use your data to train AI models.
  • WhatsApp: WA Shooter operates as a Chrome extension within WhatsApp Web. Your use of WhatsApp is subject to Meta's privacy policy and terms of service.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

5. Message Content and Contacts

WA Shooter processes your message text and contact phone numbers locally within your browser to send messages via WhatsApp Web. This data is:

  • Not transmitted to our servers (except for anonymised campaign statistics such as sent/failed counts).
  • Not stored by us beyond your browser's local storage for the duration of your session.
  • Never sold, shared, or used for any purpose other than sending your intended messages.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

Our website (washooter.com) uses:

  • Essential cookies: Required for authentication and session management.
  • Analytical cookies: Anonymised traffic analytics to improve the website (no cross-site tracking).

The Chrome extension uses chrome.storage.local (not browser cookies) to store your preferences, session token, and local campaign data. This data remains on your device only.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Data Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection: Object to certain processing of your data.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Campaign statistics are retained for up to 12 months. If you delete your account, we will erase your personal data within 30 days, except where required by law.

9. Children's Privacy

WA Shooter is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via the email associated with your account or via an in-app notice. Your continued use of WA Shooter after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
